Josef Svatopluk Machar Grammar School has been in existence even longer than the beautiful, late Art Nouveau building built to house it in1927. The school celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2013. Over the years since its foundation, the school has turned out some very prominent figures in the worlds of science, technology and the arts. The very first student to attend the school in 1913 was Antonín Bečvář, an astronomer and meteorologist of world renown. The school has undergone many changes since then. We now offer eight-year and four-year streams. For further information please browse through our website or e-mail us at and we will get back to you as soon as we possibly can.
